Chick Fil A Sauce Recipe

If you love Chick Fil A as much as I do, then I bet you’re also a fan of their delicious sauces, especially their signature sauce. I mean, how could you not be? That flavor combination is so incredible – it’s creamy, slightly tangy, subtly sweet, and has just a hint of smokiness. Yum!

I love to eat this sauce with my chicken fingers, fries, and burgers. This combination of flavors is so mouthwatering, that I could pretty much eat it on anything. That’s why I decided to mix up this homemade Chick Fil A sauce. It tastes just as good as the original and you can make it in your own kitchen!

This copycat Chick Fil A sauce recipe is seriously so close to the real deal that you won’t be able to tell the difference. It has the creamy mayo base, some sweetness from the honey, a little kick from the Dijon mustard, tanginess from the yellow mustard, a hint of garlic, the freshness from the lemon juice, and the hint of smoke flavor from a smoky BBQ sauce. The combination of all these flavors is what takes this Chick-Fil-A sauce recipe over the top.

Whether you want to mix up a small batch to store in your fridge for you and your family to enjoy, make a bigger batch by doubling or tripling the recipe to serve for a larger crowd, or even use it as a chicken marinade for your next cookout, this Chick Fil A sauce recipe is just what you need. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

Ingredients

Mayonnaise: Mayonnaise is the creamy base of this Chick Fil A sauce. I used Hellmann’s mayonnaise.

Honey: Honey adds the perfect balance of sweetness to the sauce.

Yellow Mustard & Dijon Mustard: Yellow mustard adds a bright and tangy flavor, while Dijon adds a smooth and slightly spicy taste.

Lemon Juice: Lemon juice adds a touch of freshness and helps sharpen the flavors.

Garlic Powder: Garlic powder adds a hint of garlic flavor without overpowering the other ingredients (like fresh garlic would).

Smoky BBQ Sauce: Smoky BBQ sauce gives the sauce its unique smoky flavor. A honey smoked BBQ sauce would be a great choice if you’d like to add a bit more sweetness. I used Kraft Original Barbecue Sauce.

Salt: A pinch of salt enhances the overall flavor of our sauce.

How To Make Chick Fil A Sauce

Mix It Up: In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, honey, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, smoky BBQ sauce, and a pinch of salt. Use a whisk to blend the ingredients together until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. (See the recipe card below for the full printable instructions.)

Adding mayonnaise, honey, mustard, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, and bbq sauce in a small mixing bowl, and then mixing together.

Taste and Tweak: After mixing, give the sauce a taste. If needed, add a little more honey for extra sweetness or BBQ sauce for extra smoky flavor, and mix. Keep in mind the flavors will meld and become more pronounced while chilling.

Chill and Blend: Transfer your sauce to an airtight container and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. This will allow all the flavors to meld together and create a perfectly balanced sauce.

Serve: After a couple of hours, give your sauce a good stir and it’s ready to serve. Enjoy it with your favorite fried chicken, nuggets, fries, or sandwiches! See the recipe card below for the full written instructions, including ingredient amounts, and helpful tips, etc.

Pro Tips.

  • Allow your sauce to sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. This gives the flavors time to meld together.

BEST Copycat Chick Fil A Sauce Recipe

The best Chick Fil A sauce recipe.

This Chick Fil A sauce is the best you’ll ever make! This easy Chick Fil A sauce dupe is the best dipping sauce for waffle fries and chicken.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup + 1 Tablespoon smoky BBQ sauce*
  • Salt to taste, if desired

Instructions

  1. Add mayonnaise, honey, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, and BBQ sauce in a mixing bowl. Whisk together until all ingredients are well-blended.
  2. Taste the sauce and adjust according to your preference. If you'd like it a bit sweeter, you can add a touch more honey, or if you prefer a tangier sauce, add a little more lemon juice. If desired, season with a pinch of salt.
  3. Transfer the sauce to an airtight container and allow it to sit in the refrigerator for two hours to allow the flavors to meld together. This step is so important because it takes a little while for the flavors to develop.
  4. Give it a good stir before serving, and enjoy with your favorite fried chicken, nuggets, fries, or sandwiches!

Notes

*I used a smoky honey BBQ sauce and that’s what really brought it to the next level. When I tried using a plain or original BBQ sauce it didn’t have the right flavor.

The sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. If it thickens a bit in the fridge, give it a good stir before using.

Make sure to use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of bottled for the best flavor.
