How To Make Flatbread Pizza
Spread pizza sauce over the flatbread, then add the tomato slices. (See the recipe card below for the full printable instructions.)
Top it with torn pieces of fresh mozzarella, then sprinkle with a little bit of Italian seasoning, and some sea salt if you’d like.
After you bake it, add some torn fresh basil for a more gourmet flavor. See the recipe card below for the full written instructions, including ingredient amounts, cooking times, and helpful tips, etc.
Best Ways To Cook Flatbread Pizza
The easiest way to cook flatbread pizza is in the oven, but you can also cook it on the grill, in the air fryer, or in a covered skillet on low heat.
Best Flatbread Pizza Toppings
Red sauce, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, basil leaves, and Italian seasoning are the only toppings you need.
Some other popular additions are basil pesto, parsley pesto, caramelized onions, artichoke, bruschetta, prosciutto, pepperoni, parmesan cheese, cherry tomatoes, balsamic glaze, mozzarella pearls, minced garlic, and spinach and goat cheese.
Homemade Crust vs Store Bought Crust
Homemade flatbread pizza dough recipe is very easy to make because it doesn’t use yeast, so it doesn’t need any rising time.
I still prefer to use store bought crust for this recipe to make it even easier. I buy the rectangular flatbreads at Costco, but you can also use naan, pita, tortilla, or lavash bread to make a personal pizza.
