Make these Pumpkin Whoopie Pies with Pumpkin Buttercream this fall! Pumpkin spice whoopie pies are the perfect fall dessert that everyone loves!
Pumpkin whoopie pies with buttercream frosting are the new official dessert of fall in our house. Full of pumpkin spice flavor from my DIY Pumpkin Pie Spice and lots of pumpkin puree, these whoopie pies are handheld bites of fall heaven.
Since they travel so well, I’m sharing them with everyone! They’ve gotten rave reviews – I’m sure that you’ll love this pumpkin whoopie pie recipe, too.
The Pumpkin Cake Cookies for this recipe are perfect. As soon as I tasted one I knew that I’d be making whoopie pies with them.
They’re soft, light, fluffy, and they completely melt in your mouth. These pumpkin cookies are full of tons of pumpkin spice flavor.
The Pumpkin Buttercream Frosting is literally so delicious that I may or may not have been caught (multiple times) with a spoonful of it in my mouth.
This buttercream frosting is beyond delicious, you’re bound to want to eat some by itself. Do your best to save some for the pumpkin whoopie pies!
How to make GLUTEN FREE PUMPKIN WHOOPIE PIES:
I’ve made these whoopie pies with regular flour and with gluten free flour and they turned out beautifully both ways.
I recommend this gluten free flour blend above all others. It makes the most amazing baked goods, and I can always count on my recipes turning out well when I use it. This is flour I used for this recipe, so I can only vouch for how the recipe will turn if you use it, too.
I also added in a Tablespoon of this magical binding ingredient (hint: it’s not xantham gum!).
I love keeping this ingredient on hand. Whenever I’m adapting a recipe to make it gluten free, I always use my favorite gluten free flour blend and add in 1 Tablespoon of this binding ingredient.
Bonus Tip:This pumpkin puree is fantastic quality with an insanely amazing price.
